Packaging boxes
A packaging box can be constructed in numerous different ways and using a variety of materials, e.g. timber, plywood, corrugated cardboard, metal, etc.
Wooden boxes can be constructed using close-fitting boards for minimal air gaps or have a more frame-like structure with spaced panels, i.e. a crate. Wood offers numerous advantages compared with other materials:
- Recyclable
- Environmentally friendly
- Repairable
- Long useful life
- Can bear relatively heavy loads
- Does not conduct static electricity
